Sri Ram Sagar ( Pochampad ) Project

The multi-purpose irrigation project Sriram Sagar is a boon to Telangana region. In 1963 Jlu 26 our first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru laid foundation to Sripada Sagar project at Pochampadu in Nizamabad District across the River Godavari.

Form Nizamabad 55 km diatance to reach the Dam. The Project serves as water source to 5 Districts (Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Adilibad, warangal and Khammam) through its three canal.



Near to the Dam site at the riverbank an Sree Rm Mandir is located, one of the most attractuve places in Godavari pushkaralu.That is why this reservoir was named as Sri Rama Sagar Project.This place is near to Basara Saraswathi temple.
