INTRODUCTION

The District derives its name from the NIZAM of Hyderabad. Nizamabad
District is bounded by Nandhed District of Maharashtra State on the west and Adilabad
District in the North, Medak District on the South and Karimnagar District on the East
.The Nizamsagar and Pochampad Projects are the main sources for water supply. Paddy,
Sugarcane, Ground Nut, Cotton are the principle crops grown in the district. National
Highway No.7, which connects Hyderabad and Nagpur cuts across the district. The
Secunderabad-Mudkhed Meter gauge railway line passes through Nizamabad.
The District has achieved advancement in the agricultural sector and recently
stepped into industrial activities and slowly acquiring significance. All needed physical
and financial infrastructural facilities are being provided to enhance the industrial image
of the District.
